A Government Lie in the Making

About the only thing governments produce more often than wars and debt are lies. Right now, you can witness the birth of a government lie in the making!

This particular lie was created to help cover up the key reason for the Iraq war--Israel. The sycophants known as our political 'leaders' are virtually all controlled by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee when it comes to US foreign policy for the Middle East. Even Newt Gingrich described AIPAC as "the most effective general interest group over the entire planet." As far back as December of 1997, Fortune listed AIPAC as the second most powerful lobby in Washington, second only to the American Association of Retired Persons. AARP tries to influence politicians on behalf of US citizens, AIPAC influences politicians on behalf of a foreign nuclear power.

Israel wanted Saddam gone. The fact that Saddam would pay thousands of dollars to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers who attacked Israel took the sting out of the Israeli tactic of bulldozing the homes of the families of the bombers. Israel was determined to have Saddam removed once and for all. The Israeli leadership knew they could count on their stable of US political whores to send American military people to do their dirty work of waging war in Iraq. But Boy George and his crew needed a 'reason' for the war that the voting sheeple would buy. Not a problem! The neocons Rumsfeld, Feith and Wolfowitz set up their government within in a government in the Pentagon, the Office of Special Plans. The main task of the OSP was to cook intelligence to make it falsely appear that Saddam had WMD and could use them against the US. To assist them, Israeli Prime Minister Sharon used a similar organization in Israel to feed 'alarmist' twisted intelligence reports to the OSP, which were then passed to the White House. As reported in The Guardian, 'The OSP was an open and largely unfiltered conduit to the White House not only for the Iraqi opposition. It also forged close ties to a parallel, ad hoc intelligence operation inside Ariel Sharon's office in Israel specifically to bypass Mossad and provide the Bush administration with more alarmist reports on Saddam's Iraq than Mossad was prepared to authorize.' When you hear Bush and Blair use the excuse that other intelligence sources believed in WMD, too, this is, in all probability, what they're talking about. It helps them to pretend they didn't know that Iraq was not a threat.

One of Feith's people in the OSP was Pentagon analyst Larry Franklin. Franklin is a devout, hardcore neocon, and thus, an Israel Firster. The next threat Israel and the neocons want the US and its shrinking number of allies to destroy is Iran. As James Bamford wrote in his insightful book, A Pretext For War, 'Like regime change in Iraq, regime change in Iran had always been a top priority for both Israel and many neoconservatives in the Bush administration, who hoped after a quick war with Iraq, Iran would be next.'

Larry Franklin read a top-secret US document called a National Security Presidential Directive that was written to inform Bush on Iran. Franklin was angered by the document because he felt it wasn't aggressive enough against Iran. The FBI believes Franklin gave information from this document and other top-secret documents to AIPAC with the hope they and Israel would use their incredible power over US politicians to counter the ideas in the Presidential Directive.

After two years of investigations, the FBI confronted Franklin with their evidence of his giving classified information to AIPAC officials. Franklin agreed to work with the FBI in their investigation of AIPAC.

This is where the new government lie comes in. Originally it was said that Franklin passed fake documents the FBI had prepared regarding Israeli agents in Iraq who were being targeted by Iranians to two AIPAC officials, Steve Rosen, AIPAC's policy director, and Keith Weissman, AIPAC's senior Iran specialist. Rosen and Weissman were told by Franklin that the fake documents were actually top-secret government documents revealing threats to Israeli agents operating in Iraq. The fact that they contained information about possible danger to Israeli agents in Iraq is now being changed to information about threats to US troops in Iraq. As if AIPAC is concerned about US troops! Could it be that the government is creating this lie to avoid exposing the truth, that the war in Iraq is for a Greater Israel? That the 1,643 dead Americans died, not for America's interests as they falsely believed, but for the interests of a foreign country, Israel? If the media covered this scandal with half of the enthusiasm as they did the runaway bride story, people would start to wake up and ask questions about the crooks and cowards in the White House and in Congress.

Perhaps the government realizes that it's stretching things too far by saying the information illegally passed to AIPAC officials was regarding dangers to US troops, not Israeli agents. Recently the story has changed to a danger to both Americans and Israelis in Iraq! This lie won't be good enough. It still makes it painfully evident that the war is really for Israel's benefit at the expense of Muslims and Americans. This will further enrage people in the Islamic world against both Israel and Israel's unthinking minions in the US. If the media was truly a free press, Americans would be angry as well. But with the media working to spread patriotism for the government, the politicians don't have to worry about that. Most Americans will remain in the dark.

To make matters worse, and to show the unnatural, raw political clout AIPAC enjoys at the expense of peace and progress and the Gentiles of the world, AIPAC has been informed by the government they own that they are not a target of the investigation! It appears the investigation showed AIPAC the organization was not involved in spying on the US. How can anyone who knows that AIPAC's policy director and its senior Iran specialist are key players in the investigation accept this nonsense?

Looking at the AIPAC convention that just ended on Monday, the politicians are still firmly in their pockets. Condoleezza Rice, Hillary Clinton, and hundreds of kosher plutocrats from both parties attended the event. It truly is the best government money can buy! And the deadliest!
