The Invisible Pirate - Stealth Surfing for Dummies

This edition covers anonymous surfing for those who would rather not dig too deeply into the nuts and bolts of the issue. As a matter of fact, these two methods should both be classified as idiot-proof; it matters not if you are lazy, ignorant, or just plain stupid. Even the digitally challenged can easily master these methods. I recently spent over a week online, researching and testing numerous stealth surfing methods. These two programs appear to be perfect for dummies. Both are commercial programs and they work. You can download them and use them immediately. It doesn't get any easier than this. Both are trialware--they will expire at the end of the trial period.

StealthSurf X-treme *****

Let me save you lots of time and money: you can pay much more and get much less privacy than this program provides. At $29.99, it is a bargain. The SSL connection is a bonus that you will not get in most similar programs. Just install it, run it, and surf. It runs in the background, all by itself, you don't have to do anything. No playing with proxies, no configuring your browser. It's all automatic, just the way it should be. Try it, you'll like it.

"Once installed, StealthSurf X-treme relentlessly secures, protects and hides your computer and web-browsing habits from hackers, identity thieves, and other potential invasions of privacy. StealthSurf X-treme routes your Web browsing through Internet privacy servers using SSL 128-Bit Encryption to hide your connection. This encryption securely protects all data, sent to or from your computer, from being monitored, traced, or captured over the Internet. With StealthSurf X-treme you'll browse the Internet with the same security and technology used by online banking, web merchants, and financial institutions. StealthSurf X-treme works quietly in the background, securing your Internet connection and ensuring a safe, private and protected web browsing experience."

Completely Anonymous Web Surfing *****

This has got to be one of the cleanest and slickest programs that I have ever used, bar none. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. After playing with confusing proxy programs for a week, using this one was like dying and going to heaven. If you have ever found yourself scratching your head, wondering how to configure your browser to use high anonymous proxy servers to surf anonymously, you must try this program, just to see how simple proxy software can be. All you have to do is: install it, start your browser first, then start the program, click on Autopilot, wait about a minute, and click on Done. You are now stealth surfing, using high anonymous proxy servers. If you are proxy savvy, you can also do it manually, and the program is highly configurable. Tweekers will love this program. Compared to the other proxy programs I have used, this is top shelf merchandise being sold at a bargain basement price, truly one-click proxy connection setup at its finest. The trial period is five days and it costs $39.00.

Caution: Ensure that you start your browser first, then start the program. If you do it the other way around, you may not be anonymous, but you can easily verify that by clicking on a small link in the Step 6 box, before you start surfing.

What's the difference between these two programs? StealthSurf X-treme uses an SSL connection (optional, but recommended) to private proxy servers. Completely Anonymous Web Surfing connects to public proxy servers, with no SSL connection, but it automatically configures a chain of high-speed proxies (install default, configurable) that autoswitch at specified (3 min. default, alterable) intervals, and you will hear a soft pop when it happens.

Real dummies will like SSX, but semi-geeks will love CAWS, even without the SSL connection, just because it is so slick.

Disclaimer: I am in no way connected with either of these programs or their respective companies.

Note: The (trial) crack for StealthSurf X-treme is readily available online, but dummies won't care, or even know what this means, even if they read it. :)
