Should Israel Make Concessions and Renounce Part of the Torah?

Israel and the US are conspiring to undercut the democratic will of the Palestinian people by forcing Hamas, the choice of the people, out of their legally elected position of political power. The US plutocrats spent $42,000,000 taxpayer dollars to support the opponents of Hamas! This is only one example of the US government doing Israel's anti-democratic dirty work!

Israel and its cronies in Congress and the White House say they want Hamas to openly state that Israel has a right to exist. On the surface, this sounds reasonable. But when looked at from the Palestinian perspective, it demands that they say Israel was right to force the majority of Palestinian people from their land. Also, when the statement is phrased as it sometimes is that the Palestinians have to recognize Israel, which Israel? The Israel of 1948 or the expanded Israel of today?

Israel likes to keep on the offensive, always demanding others jump through its hoops while never accepting demands ( I should have said requests, for to demand something of the Jewish state would get one instantly painted as a dreaded anti-Semite!) of others. I think it's reasonable to demand Israel make some important concessions. To start with, they should allow UN nuclear inspectors to take an inventory of their nuclear bombs. Once this verifiably happens, Iran would in all probability be much more cooperative regarding its nuclear program.

A much more fundamental threat to peace is the Jewish worldview. Currently, it embraces the Old Testament and the rabbinical writings of the Talmud. For example, when Israel invaded Lebanon last summer and got their asses kicked by Hezbollah, the Yesha Rabbinical Council openly declared that, "according to Jewish law, during a time of battle and war, there is no such term as 'innocents' of the enemy." (By stating there are no innocents of the enemy during war, this Jewish teaching clears the Nazis of all guilt for the alleged extermination of Jews, unless they restrict it to mean only the enemies of Jews have no innocents. Since their 'revealed' religious teachings set them above all people upon the face of the earth, and since to look at it otherwise would take all meaning from their holocaust, I'm sure their teaching applies only to them.) This disgusting disregard and violence promoting 'revealed' religious hatred of all Gentiles that Israel decides to attack needs to change. Just as Pope John Paul II made it a sin to be anti-Semitic, the Jewish religious leaders and the Jewish state of Israel should renounce many of their 'holy' scriptures and ignorant Jewish teachings.

To start with, I think it would go a long way towards peace if Israel sat down with their 'holy' book, the Torah, and made a list of objectionable ideas and teachings found in it that are roadblocks to the so-called road map to peace in the Middle East. They could publicly claim their rejection of unreasonable and violence/terrorist-promoting Biblical statements that the Torah is full of. They can also publicly apologize to the Palestinians and to the world for believing in and violently acting on such ancient superstitious nonsense that has caused so much unnecessary pain and misery, similar to what the Roman Catholic Pope John Paul II did when he apologized to the Jews for the persecution they suffered under Catholic rule during the Dark Ages.

The Israeli Knesset should form a peace and reconciliation committee and start identifying the offensive passages and removing them from the Torah. A good one to begin with is Deuteronomy 7:6, in which the ancient Jews put the following words in the Bible god's mouth concerning themselves: 'For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God; the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.' Can you imagine the impact a public repudiation of this superstition-based supremacist belief and scripture would have on the world? It would go a very long way in healing the religious hatred currently infecting the region and the world!

Next, Israel could repudiate Deuteronomy 7:16, which states, 'And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them.' If followed up with positive action, this would defuse the so-called Islamic terrorists! After all, this Bible quote promotes the idea that terrorism by the Jews against non-Jews is the Bible god's will. And since Israel is a combination of 'revealed' religion and government, it stands to reason that if this Bible quote is taken seriously, only more bloodshed and terror will follow.

Nobody likes a person or nation that wants to rule the world. If Israel and the Jews would repudiate Deuteronomy 28:1, I think they could win more sincere friends. This disgusting Bible quote reads, 'And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.' For people who say Mein Kampf was Hitler's blueprint for world domination, I believe Bible quotes like these make it very clear much of the Old Testament is a blueprint from Jewish world domination!

To relieve a lot of pressure on the 'public servants' in Congress and the White House, Israel could renounce Isaiah 60:10, which says, 'And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee.' It's interesting to note that this Bible passage is currently literally true! Israel is building its apartheid/separation wall and the politicians in Washington have been sending them BILLIONS of US tax dollars every year for at least the past two decades, some of which I'm sure ends up paying for their wall.

Another way to help the US public servants would be for Israel to strike Isaiah 60:12 from their scriptures. This quote puts the fear of the Jewish Bible god in the trembling plutocrats: 'For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.' WOW! This Jewish Bible god means business! Of course, to people still capable of independent thought and who value and employ their God-given reason, the Bible god seems more like Oz.

When we look at the Old Testament, we see that Israel's borders covered much more area than they do today. It would be nice to have the Israeli government hold a press conference to let the world know they don't have any plans of regaining Israel's Old Testament borders, that no plans for a Greater Israel are in the works. This is important taking into consideration the previous Bible passages that call for Israel to be 'above all nations of the earth.' Also, the large segments of the Christian community who believe Israel of Old Testament size was a gift from God to the Jews believe as Pat Robertson does that Israel should regain this gift from God. In order to do this, Israel will have to wage war against Egypt, Jordan and Syria. Since both US political parties and the majority of the media are squarely in Israel's pocket, that would mean the loss of many more Americans and many more American tax dollars.

People who think should do all they can to get the fire of thought going in the minds of their friends, family and neighbors. By removing belief in unreasonable ancient 'revealed' religions, we are moving the world further away from war, and in a nuclear age, that is VERY IMPORTANT! Hopefully, if we do all we can to enlighten people, Albert Einstein's quote will be correct. He said it regarding seeing Jews praying at the Wailing Wall. "Where dull-witted clansmen of our tribe were praying aloud, their faces turned to the wall, their bodies swaying to and fro. A pathetic sight of men with a past but without a future." Einstein also said, "Should we be unable to find a way to honest cooperation and honest pacts with the Arabs, then we have learned absolutely nothing during our 2,000 years of suffering and deserve all that will come to us."
