“Reeves was barely 30 when he was arrested. Since being released, Reeves—now 52 and a father of six—has tried to find work and settle into the life he never got the chance to live. After more than two decades in prison, he has a large gap in his resumé. He walked out unfamiliar with how to operate a cellphone or computer. He injured his back and can’t perform the physical tasks he could as a young man. Once an auto mechanic, he doesn’t know how the latest models work."
