Agency Proposes ‘Do Not Track’ Option for Web Users

“The Federal Trade Commission advocated a plan on Wednesday that lets consumers on the Internet choose whether they want information about their browsing habits to be collected, an option known as,” according to the New York Times (registration required), “do not track.” I doubt that there are many here that actually believe for one instant that the notoriously spy happy government is going to respect a “do not track” option.
