Amid Protest, Florida School Stands Behind Tough New Peanut Allergy Regulations
More public school insanity, more entitlement madness: “Students at Edgewater Elementary are required to wash their hands and rinse their mouths out before entering the classroom each morning and after lunch. Teachers, who monitor the daily rinsing, must also ensure that desks are being continually wiped down with Clorox wipes. The school has banned all peanut products, eliminated snacks in the classroom and prevented outside food at holiday parties. And last week a peanut-sniffing dog was brought into the school.” Now, mind you, this is over a single student. And, here is where entitlement madness comes in. It amazes me that this set of parents feels entitled to disrupt the education of the rest of the students and press for Draconian food choice restrictions for all the other kids because of their most precious, oh so special daughter’s allergy. Such self-centeredness. Such poor manners. Obviously, or at least it used to be obvious, common courtesy and common sense dictate that other arrangements should be made for the single child that this allergy affects, rather than significantly inconvenience the entire rest of the school. WTF is wrong with people, anyway?
