"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
CIA Secretly Intercepted Congressional Communications About Whistleblowers
"The disclosures from 2014 were released late Thursday by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). 'The fact that the CIA under the Obama administration was reading Congressional staff’s emails about intelligence community whistleblowers raises serious policy concerns as well as potential Constitutional separation-of-powers issues that must be discussed publicly,' wrote Grassley in a statement. According to Grassley, he originally began trying to have the letters declassified more than four years ago but was met with 'bureaucratic foot-dragging, led by Brennan and Clapper.'"
