Osama bin Laden Needs a Reality Lesson

Americans are not the only ones suffering under the delusion that we live in a free country and can control our own national destiny. It appears that Osama bin Laden suffers from the same delusion, according to his own words.

In his Letter to America (which appears to be greatly suppressed by the US media/government, probably because it lists the reasons we're being attacked, not the lies the media/government has been feeding us since 9/11), after listing grievances against America, such as America's virtually unconditional support for Israel in its occupation of Palestinian land, America's supplying Israel's military with billions of dollars worth of deadly arms and weapons that it uses to kill Muslim men, women, and children, etc., Osama bin Laden then states, '(3) You may then dispute that all the above does not justify aggression against civilians, for crimes they did not commit and offenses in which they did not partake:

'(a) This argument contradicts your continuous repetition that America is the land of freedom, and its leaders in this world. Therefore, the American people are the ones who choose their government by way of their own free will; a choice which stems from their agreement to its policies. Thus the American people have chosen, consented to, and affirmed their support for the Israeli oppression of the Palestinians, the occupation and usurpation of their land, and its continuous killing, torture, punishment and expulsion of the Palestinians. The American people have the ability and choice to refuse the policies of their Government and even to change it if they want.'

This is a strong flaw in Osama's thinking. He must have a high school civics textbook with him to get such unrealistic ideas about how the US is run! Doesn't he realize that the politicians in Washington go to the highest bidder, who happens to be, in this case, the Israeli lobby, American Israel Public Affairs Committee? Does he really believe American policy is set by the will of the people?

Regarding the people, as Thomas Jefferson wrote, "They will forget themselves but in the sole faculty of making money . . . ." Thomas Jefferson: Notes on Virginia Q.XVII, 1782.

This Jeffersonian prediction has come true. That is why politicians can be bought and sold so easily. The mindset of America is focused exclusively on personal profit. It's no contest for the average American regarding what will win his or her interest, an article about how US politicians are giving billions of dollars worth of deadly military equipment to Israel, which they in turn use to kill Palestinian people and bulldoze their homes into rubble, or how to get the biggest profit from their stock portfolio. It's no contest.

The greed factor, combined with herd instinct and peer pressure, are so deep rooted in American society that people even allow the government to send their own children off to die in a war for Israeli security without even being aware of why their son or daughter came home in a box, or is missing their vision or a limb. So why would they care about Palestinian children and people?

Osama is being disingenuous when he writes about American civilians being responsible for the government's actions in favor of Israel and against the Muslims, for a few paragraphs after these statements he writes, 'Your law is the law of the rich and wealthy people, who hold sway in their political parties, and fund their election campaigns with their gifts. Behind them stand the Jews, who control your policies, media and economy.' So he knows democracy is nothing but a fraud perpetrated on the people. A fraud supported by the victims themselves, whenever they take part in it through actually voting.

Another lesson Osama needs to learn is that his religion, Islam, that he wants to subject the world to, is nothing but more superstition added to Judaism. The ancient Jews wrote the tripe that is the Torah/Old Testament. The Jews who followed Jesus wrote the fables that make up the New Testament and which are based on the Old Testament, and Mohamed made up the Koran to be based on both the Old and New Testaments! All of them go directly against our God-given reason.
