“This week, the Reno City Council formally declared a critical shortage of police chief candidates. How did it determine such a shortage exists?” The Council just declared the shortage, “so the city can keep Chief Steve Pitts for another year, allowing him to collect a $153,000 a year city pay check and his $180,000 a year retirement benefit from the state's Public Employee Retirement System.”
