And, this doesn't look good either. Of course, smart people prepare their children to function in a variety of economic situations and circumstances. I've never been on welfare or without work, no matter what the economy. My kids have always seen me work, and – when I wasn't working from home – gone to work with me. Before I was a full-time writer, we delivered newspapers and phone books, sold Avon, cared for the elderly, cleaned houses, did yard work, sold home-baked goods, took in mending, etc. and so on. I even read Tarot cards full time for a while. We've had fun adventures, met wonderful people and, evidently, they learned something, because they make their own money through various little entrepreneurial ventures of their own. I don't see them ending up as grown-ups on welfare or time-clocking it. They've been taught better.
