"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
The High Cost of Cheap Chicken
97 percent of the chicken they tested across the nation had bacteria able to sicken consumers, half of that was antibiotic-resistant bacteria, even on some organic brands. Horrified, I started researching. Government testing found similar results, and not just in chicken, but also ground turkey, 81 percent, pork chops, 69 percent, and ground beef, 55 percent. No more meat for us that hasn't been raised by us, killed and processed by us. We know what our chickens eat. Drug resistant? Some resistant to three families of antibiotics? That is dangerous. Too dangerous for us. We're adding more chickens, some rabbits, turkeys and a couple goats in the spring. No more supermarket meat ever.
