Me, APD, and 'Babysitting While White,' Part Deux

This story caught my eye because it's something I could see happening to me in certain places I've traveled in the US, one of those weird worries that came to mind when I moved from the north, where my ethnically diverse family and its significantly varied skin tones were no big deal, not an unusual thing, and visited areas of the country where it made people visibly uncomfortable and complete strangers felt entitled to inform me that in their day, if people insisted on having such children, they didn't keep them, they turned them over to be raised by their own kind. Yes, I've had that statement made to me on multiple occasions by complete, random  strangers in public -- grocery store lines, convenience stores, etc.
