"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken

yesterday,
We're bound to repeat it
tomorrow
It's not too late
to start today,
Better off safe,
than sorry"

One of my favorite Extreme tunes, with bass courtesy of my good friend Pat Badger! :-) Excellent choice!
Yesterday is being re-invented, as I type, to assure tomorrow will be a repeat of today.
We have not seen sorry yet despite the pathetic circumstances the Nation finds itself in. I live in a state that seems destined to kneel before the dictator and its demands. I do however feel encouraged by a number of states rebelling by refusing to bow down.
Right now my thoughts lean toward a sufficient number of states rebelling. To me this is encouraging because I believe there stands a chance that it will not be too late. Seems a contradiction to the philosophies presented, but if one gives close consideration to the process I think one could see what the possibility may be.
