Congress Overrides Bush Veto of Water Projects Bill

"Congress on Thursday overturned President George W. Bush's veto last week of a popular water projects bill, marking the first time lawmakers have mustered enough votes to override the president." For this they can come up with the votes to override a veto? But they claimed to be powerless to keep campaign promises to end the occupation of Iraq, or stop the kidnapping and torture of ?detainees?, domestic spying, etc and so on...
