Not satire. I guess they couldn't observe this on April 15, huh? "The holiday commemorates the day in 1862 that President Abraham Lincoln signed the District of Columbia Compensated Emancipation Act, which ended slavery in the District of Columbia and freed more than 3,000 slaves." Wait, you mean to tell me that during the war that was fought to "end slavery," slavery continued in D.C. for a year after the start of the war? (Editor's pick)
