"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
Mike Judge's Idiocracy
Submitted by Robert Kaercher on Wed, 2007-04-11 16:00
"I haven't seen it yet, but this clip from Mike Judge's dystopian comedy about a man frozen for a government experiment only to come out of it five centuries later to find that nearly everyone in the world is pushing a barely 70 IQ is absolutely hilarious. This film was under marketed by Fox upon its initial release last summer, but thanks to YouTube, it may be getting a new opportunity to win a mass audience. (Be sure to check out the clip that projects a future U.S. government that looks to me like a dead-on extrapolation of current trends. WARNING: MORE PROFANE LANGUAGE.)"
