"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
Police issue warning about buying and selling gold
“The Pasadena Police Department would like to inform the public that buying gold is against the law unless you are licensed by the California Department of Justice," the statement said.” Yeah, whatever. I love these laws because they make the legal system increasingly irrelevant. I do as I please, regardless – for the most part – of laws. That used to be a bit of a fringe or extremist attitude. However, it is becoming far more mainstream as the State tries to micromanage our lives. To my great joy, increasing numbers of people are losing respect for the system as a whole and releasing themselves from their previously felt obligation to obedience, even to unjust or inappropriate laws.
