The Savage Model 42 Takedown: A True Survival Weapon

The Model 42 is a double-barreled, break-open long gun with a 410 shotgun barrel under a .22 LR barrel. Use 410 birdshot and the .22 for survival hunting and 410 slugs for protection. Both calibers are fairly cheap and easy to come by. I think this arm is the best bet for survival, but not for guerilla warfare, sniping, or other paramilitary useage. For those you need an AR, and which to work in that role, you'll also need to have a military-level logistical ammo and repair capability, which in a survival situation, you likely won't have.
