"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
The U.S. Ranks 2nd in Child Poverty
Submitted by Persona non grata on Mon, 2013-01-07 00:00
According to UNICEF, 23.1% of American children under the age of seventeen live in poverty, which makes the United States rank second out of thirty-five economically advanced countries ranked in that category. Romania ranks first, with 25.5% of children living in poverty.--We waste trillions on war and bailouts only to ignore our most vulnerable which speaks volumes about our society.--
