"Standing armies consist of professional soldiers who owe their livelihood and income to the government. Unlike civilians who render periodic service in local militia, professional soldiers do not own property and therefore do not have any source of income other than the government’s military paymaster. Thus, they are more likely to serve the government’s interests, regardless of whether its leaders are dishonest and corrupt or not. In fact, standing armies may even promote rapacious foreign or domestic policies if such policies enrich the army. In contrast, arms bearing, property owning citizen militiamen have a stake in the health of the republic as a whole and can be trusted to act in the republic’s best interests, whether those interests call for action in support of or against the political leadership of the nation." ~ Anthony Dennis
19 year old, free market anarchist trying to write about Liberty as he grows. His hobbies include reading, eating, playing guitar, and camping.
I am Dylan Delikta
Born and raised in the Metro Detroit area of Michigan
Aside from writing and reading, I enjoy playing and writing music; mainly for guitar and occasionally for the saxophone.
I read into a lot of philosophy, economics, psychology, and a variety of other topics, mainly because it is a direct way to teach myself about the issues of the world.
My favorite place in the world is Interlochen, MI, where my family and friends go to camp every summer.
I am considered and also claimed to something called Straight Edge (don't drink, don't smoke, don't partake in drugs). It's roots are from the hardcore-punk genre of music, and I feel that the Positive Straight Edge ideals are similar to libertarianism.
I see myself as an Educator in the future, or some kind of mentor. Though I went to public school, I have unschooled myself and would like to mentor others in the unschooling fashion as well.
