"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." ~ H.L. Mencken
Violent Video Games
I don't play games ( I shoot real guns though). I do my best to keep my daughter from being exposed to violent or sexual images. I think violent video games are bad for you. It's all about impressions, we become what we consume. However, that's between me and my child, not the state.

I disagree; I think it's fine for kids to play "violent" video games. The tendency to learn to fight is built into each of us, and it's good to give it a release that doesn't harm any actual living creatures, I think. It's similar to pornography: there's good evidence that when it's available, people resort to sexual crimes less, not more, as some would claim.
However, the bottom line is that I agree with you, "that's between me and my child, not the state."
