A Goode Opportunity

Virgil Goode, a representative to the US Congress from Virginia, is upset because Keith Ellison, who is a Congressman-elect from Minnesota, is a Muslim and is going to use the Koran instead of the Bible when he's sworn in as a new Congressman. Even though the ceremony that the 'holy books' are used in is an unofficial ceremony intended mostly as a photo-op, Goode is still upset. He sees the Koran as a threat to his Bible and to Christian America. The media is all excited about this conflict. They're pointing out that Goode is going directly against the First Amendment to the US Constitution, which prohibits Congress from making laws 'respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.' What this confrontation offers, which the media is ignoring, is a good opportunity to delve into the two 'holy books' in question to see what they actually contain and what ideas they promote. Both claim to be from God, so it would be enlightening for the American people to see what they actually say. One reason this has not happened is probably because the government gets great mileage out of the 'revealed' religions and their various 'holy books.' The 'revealed' religions teach people to have 'faith' and not to question the religious teachings and dogma and not to seriously question church authorities. They take this to the absurd point of actually proclaiming infallibility, as is the case with the Roman Catholic Pope! This spills over into the real world and makes people less rebellious and more like drones. You don't like the government taking money from you through taxation? You don't like the government stealing the actual homes of people under the excuse of eminent domain? You don't think the government should be sending young people off to die and to be mutilated in foreign wars just to promote the careers of politicians? Why not start a revolution and overthrow the bastards? Well, the 'Good Book' says the government is there because God wants it there to rule over us and that if we don't obey the government, we are disobeying God, and God will damn us and punish us. This is exactly what the Bible says in Romans 13:1-6!

And there are other 'holy' passages that demand subservience from individuals to governments, such as the famous one where Jesus tells the people to pay their government taxes by saying, '. . . render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's . . . .' The government goes hand in hand with the 'revealed' religions! The best way to break the spell the 'revealed' religions have on people is to get the people to use their God-given reason and question their 'revealed' religions and their authorities. To do this, it's necessary to point out absurdities that their particular 'faith' embraces. Such as Mark 16:15-18, which claims that Christians can drink deadly poison and not be harmed. This I would love to see Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham and the Pope attempt to prove! Our God-given reason tells us this is a Biblical lie, yet people don't question it. If we can demonstrate to people that it is a lie, which we can by pointing out that none of the leaders of the 'revealed' religions attempt to demonstrate the truth of this Biblical passage, we can get them to eventually free themselves, and eventually free society, from these, as Thomas Jefferson wrote, 'chains of monkish ignorance.' This same Biblical passage in Mark states that Christians will be able to 'lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.' By pointing out to sincere Christians that this Bible claim is proven to be a lie by all the doctor's offices, hospitals, and ambulance services around the world, we are helping to smash those chains of monkish ignorance that Jefferson spoke of. For if it was true that Christians could lay their hands on the sick and the sick would recover, there would be absolutely no need for any type of medical care and treatment. There would be no need for medical schools or medical research that Billy Graham depends upon. (See picture of Billy and his walker) Every time we see a hospital or hear an ambulance, we know the Bible is false. Another Biblical reality that will help shake people out of their dogmatic stupor is the fact that Abraham, the father of all three of the Big Three 'revealed' religions--Judaism, Christianity and Islam--pimped his wife not once but twice! The first time he pimped her to the Egyptians and the Pharaoh because he was afraid the Egyptians would want her and if they knew he was her husband, they'd kill him to have her. (He also greatly profited in material goods and wealth by pimping her.) So much for 'trusting the Lord'! This case of wife pimping is found in Genesis 12:10-16. The next time Father Abraham pimps his wife Sarah is in Genesis 20: 1-2. What makes this Bible story even harder to believe and even more disgusting is that by the second time Abraham pimped Sarah, she was over 90 years old! The Koran, regardless of George W. saying it doesn't promote violence as the 'terrorists' say, strongly promotes violence just as the Bible does. (Here are just a few bloody passages from the Bible which promote violence: Deuteronomy 7:16; Deuteronomy 2:25; Exodus 31:14 . . .) For example, Surah 5:33 which reads, "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement." Both politicians Goode and Ellison should be pointedly and publicly asked if they embrace these violent, ignorant and immoral teachings and myths found in the Bible and Koran. And if they do, why?
