"However, Newsweek then asks 'why' the USA has this double-standard, and doesn’t explore the question beyond offering a couple of incidental hints throughout the article. Perhaps the Newsweek author doesn’t know, thinks the answer is unknowable, or has some other motive for not exploring the topic further, but it should be pursued and the article presents a good opportunity."
