Sports Stadiums Are Notoriously Poor Municipal Investments, So Why Do Cities Rush to Build Them?

For the reason that political pork, crony capitalism, and local VIP’s status-signaling combined together seem to be an unstoppable force. And so it looks like SoCal taxpayers are next in line to get fleeced for another one.
